Software Developer – Digital Twin / Simulation Platform

With approximately 3,000 employees across 20+ locations worldwide and an export share above 85%, they are investing significantly in their Pune engineering centre to bring technical capability closer to fast-growing Asian and global markets.

You will design and develop Digital Twin and Virtual Commissioning capabilities for the company's pharmaceutical packaging and processing systems. The role involves simulating machine control systems digitally so that PLC code can be tested and validated before physical hardware is built or shipped — significantly reducing on-site commissioning time and risk. Reports to the Engineering Director or Group Leader.

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or a comparable field.
• Experience with SIMIT (Siemens simulation platform) or Emulate3D (Rockwell). Candidates with Emulate3D experience and the ability to transition to SIMIT will also be considered.
• Virtual commissioning experience — non-negotiable core requirement for this role.
• Object-oriented programming skills: C# and/or Python.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

• SIMIT (Siemens) for simulating plant/process behaviour against live PLC logic.
• Emulate3D (Rockwell) — 3D kinematic machine emulation; cross-training to SIMIT expected.
• Unity game engine and C#/.NET for real-time 3D / XR visualisation.
• Industrial network protocols: PROFINET, EtherCAT, OPC UA, MQTT.
• WinCC, Studio 5000 or FactoryTalk Logix Echo.
